Workwise is part of Papworth Trust, a leading disability charity. Workwise aims to successfully develop and train people with mental ill health in a genuine business environment, helping people to regain confidence, motivation and self-esteem in the workplace and thus contribute to their quality of life.
The charity has helped more than 5,000 people with long-term mental ill health back into work, gain qualifications or take part in community activities.

What we’ve done
We started working with Workwise in 2012, when we formed an enterprise partnership with them, giving a number of Workwise trainees work experience before the charity closed. A number of trainees have now benefited from work placements with us, two of which are now full time employees.
We have even seen our first N2S wedding with Carla Mayes and Steve Bloomfield, who both joined us from Workwise, when they tied the knot in 2016.
Carla said: “Steve and I met back in 2013 at Workwise when we were both suffering with mental health issues. With the help of the charity we made really good progress and started dating. At first we kept our relationship secret as we thought it was against the rules, but it was the worst kept secret and Steve proposed to me at the top of the London Eye.
“We will always be eternally grateful to Workwise and N2S. Since we started working at N2S we have done so much together. We have been on holiday, moved into our own home in Sudbury and even brought our own dog. We had our dream wedding at Bulmer Church in Essex in May and neither of us would ever have thought we would be where we are now. We have been on a fantastic journey and we are ready for many more years to come.”

Jack Gomarsall, N2S Managing Director, said: “We worked very closely with Workwise over several years helping many people get back to work, so we were very sad when the organisation closed. However, we are delighted our involvement has made such a positive impact on the lives of Steve and Carla. Both have been a credit to themselves and the company ever since they joined us and we wish them the very best of luck in the future. “
